Hoofungi

£225.00

Hoofungi exist between realms of the seen and unseen.

They flit through the forest tasting the air for the scent of sweet wood rot.

They sense the slower pulse of a tree.

Searching out the tree receptive to their spores.

When they find the old tree that has loosened its bark for the Hoofungi spores.

Gently attaching themselves and sighing with a sing-song hoo-hum,

the Hoofungi sing for the dear old tree,

Quietly expanding the fungus,

absorbing its end life juices,

Returning to the rich mulchy forest floor,

This is really something beautiful.

My imaginary vision conjured this as a response to what an animated creature representing Hoof fungi would look like.

Inspiration comes direct from fungi, walking in the woods and the cycle of life. 🌀

43cm length.

Material: Treated and dried hoof fungus. Air dry clay. Cotton fabric. Cosclay hands. Aluminium wire. Wool. PVA glue. Acrylic paint. Varnish.

Price includes postage.
