Oak Maiden.

Oak Maiden, inspired by the wonder of Oak trees.

All the life that is sustained by them and coexist within their boughs,

Insect, mammal, invertebrate, fungus.

She holds aloft gathered acorns to be planted in a giant acorn cup.

Her hair and dress are oak leaves.

I wish oaks were revered, protected and understood.

Worshipped and seen.

There are not enough of them now…

If ancient cultures believed that oaks and acorns

symbolised mainly wisdom, knowledge and strength,

then there is not enough of that now.

Plant oaks,

Think in terms of longevity,

Pass on the wisdom

Of sustaining the beauty

Which in its entirety

Is

utterly amazing..

Ahhh! Life.
