The Caterpillar Caretakers
Three sisters, Mildred, Miriam and Marg are conservationists living in an ideal world of their own making. Creating and maintaining the perfect habitat for raising endangered species, the Great Horned Devil Moths. Ensuring the Great Moths survival is a constant battle. The sisters passionately devote themselves to this cause believing that without their protection the grandest of all Moths would vanish from the world, never to be seen again.

Abandoning their previous, privileged lives and shunning the heady lifestyle of a wealthy elite, together they have become a force of nature in themselves and to the Great Moth a protector, salvationist and caretaker. Mothers of the Moth the locals call them…. M.O.M.
The Great Moth caterpillars feed on shrubs that grow all over the estates belonging to the sisters. When the caterpillars stop feeding they begin the next stage of transformation. At this point they have become so big that wheel barrows are often used to place them in the best possible position. Whilst the caterpillars pupate, the sisters change out of their aprons and have time out to do paperwork, conservation campaigning and educational talks.
The greatest moment of emergence is widely anticipated and not just for the sisters but for the invited parties and schools who arrive to witness metamorphosis in action.
It is a time to reflect on the cycle of all life. The transient beauty in becoming an adult moth and the profound changes to the body, growing wings to explore the world and each other, to copulate and lay eggs, is an exquisite finale to the last embodiment of their lifecycle.
